If you plan to visit Liverpool in the coming days, don’t miss the Open Source City festival. This micro-festival of open source practice in the production of media art and music will take place from 17 to 22 June 2008 (Mello Mello, The International Gallery and Tito’s, Liverpool).
FLOSS offers opportunities to developers and users at every skill level to participate in the creative process, starting from the writing of code all the way up to the final mix of your masterpiece. These are tools that have the power to bring people together through creativity, collaboration, knowledge sharing and, importantly,technology. So, how will Open Source play a part in the music and art scenes of the future? Maybe the answer lies in your hands? Take part.
