Rifflet – free, CC-licensed samples and a social website for musicians

Free Your Media weblog writes about Rifflet. It is a new website that pushes musicians to post their unfinished song for the rest of the Rifflet community to hear, build upon, and recontextualize.

A unique melody, bass line, guitar riff, drum beat… Everything can be posted, and used by other musicians. Gizmodo even used the term “Twitter for Music”, when describing Rifflet.

Music available at Rifflet is CC-licensed. A typical rifflet is a piece of a song, which is published at the website by one of its users. They can be then shared and combined with others. And one can also publish own compositions, if they were created using samples found at Rifflet.
