A netlabel promoting Hungarian music

Budabeats is a netlabel promoting and releasing Hungarian and overseas music. All tracks are under the Creative Commons licence.

Quotation. Our label has been set up to release Hungarian and overseas producers’ music for free in styles like jazz, funk, hip hop, breakz, turntablism, downtempo, headz, lounge, sweetbeats… all in the word freestyle. Our releases for the freestyle lovers try to fill the gaps in the Hungarian net-label market. Our releases are not the final goal for our artists, just a starting step in the music business. We believe that with our help their works may get easily to everybody including DJs, label managers and not to mention the general public itself.

Budabeats’ first release is by Nandor Kurtossy, the young Hungarian producer. He started making music in ‘96, so nowadays he has his own massive musical archive including his works under the name Kovacs as well as the rest of his side projects like Savages (downtempo), Vega Ass (funk breaks), Cockchafer (trip hop). His EP is entitled Eastern Block and contains six tracks.

Second release is by the young Dutch producer, Crookram (alias Chris Angelovski). He is an exceptional sample-master with a touch of genius having no insistence on any particular style alone. His music has been made so colourful by using an unusually rich variety of downtempo, funk, hip hop, nu jazz elements and breakz.
